Developed Ideas

The genre for our sequence is extreme slasher horror. We have decided to set it in a local forest as it fits in with our inital idea. The editing will be fast paced and the use of jumping effects will add to the slightly montage effect we want to create.
As we want to create an originial sequence we have come up with an idea which fits into more than one sub-genre of horror, these consist of: teen, extreme and psycological.
The character of the murderer will be left undeveloped so that the audience can establish their own thoughts on that particular character. This is due to the fact that we want the murderer or antagonist character to remain mysterious in the title sequence, making the audience on edge. The protaganist character will be developed through facial expressions and so forth. As on entrance she is on her own, therefore no dialogue takes place.

Overview of Sequence:
The sequence follows a serial killer let loose from his family who are equally as psycotic. An average teenage girl is introduced into the situation when she finds herself walking through the forest looking rather dazed and confused with no recollection of why she is there. The question is will she survive and make her way out.

The reason we have chosen this overview is due to the fact it creates enigmas - as these hook the audience. The use of montage also adds to this effect, consisting of tracking-shots of a dense, eerie forest and images of the murderers victims in extreme-close ups.

Film Ideas
We have taken inspiration from some of the following films:

The devils rejects
The reason we have taken inspiration from this film is that it is a good example of an extreme slasher horror. Also this particular clip is made up of a montage of clips; we will be aiming to create our opening sequence in a similar format.

shrooms
This clip is based around a forest area, we will be filming in a similar environment so have take inspiration from this clip and the following one.

Eden Lake
within this clip a lot of enigmas are created surrounding who the teenagers in the clip are and why are the victims visiting this place.

se7en
The fast paced, montage editing using mainly extreme close-up shots in this opening sequence are good inspiration for our opening sequence as we would like to create a similar effect. We will take inspiration from this clip.
